Amla

Phyllanthus emblica, also known as embolic Indian Gooseberry or Amla is a decidious tree of the family Phyllanthaceae. Amla fruits contain high amount of  ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and have a bitter taste that may derive from high density of ellagitannins. Amla possess anti-diabetic, hypolipodemic, anti-microbial, anti inflammatory, anti-oxidant, hepatoprotective and anti-emetic activities.
